This chapter describes the Open Inventor stereo viewing model which provides high quality stereo projection as well as several different types of stereo rendering. Indeed, the stereo model can be divided into two parts: first is the creation of the left and right eye views, which leads to the rendering of each eye; second is how each rendering is displayed in order to create the desired stereoscopic effect. Open Inventor also provides a default graphical user interface to allow interactive adjustments to the stereo viewing parameters.
Open Inventor’s stereo rendering modes support a very large range of stereo display devices, including glasses and projectors.
