Detailed Description

ImageViz SoPorosityPercentageQuantification3d engine

The SoPorosityPercentageQuantification3d engine measures the porosity slice by slice

For an introduction, see section Morphometry.

This engine measures the porosity slice by slice. The porosity is a measure of the void spaces in a material, and is a fraction of the volume of voids over the total volume.

Note: This engine measurement ignores void space which are not surrounded by solid.

\[Porosity=\sum_z \frac{area(HI)-\bar{area(I)}}{area(HI)}\]

where $I$ denotes a plane and $HI$ the same plane with all its holes filled (SoFillHolesProcessing2d)
