Detailed Description

[PREVIEW] [Medical] Initializes the Open Inventor Medical classes.

This class allows the application to conveniently initialize all classes in the Open Inventor Medical utility library.

The init() method must be called before creating any Medical nodes. The finish() method should be called when the application is shutting down.

NOTE:

The init() method automatically sets the following Open Inventor environment variables. These values are generally better than the default values for medical applications. If these values are not appropriate for your application, reset them after calling init().

• LDM should keep uncompressed full-resolution tiles in memory.
  SoPreferences::setValue( "LDM_USE_IN_MEM_COMPRESSION", "0" );

• LDM should build tiles by requesting full slices from the reader.
  SoPreferences::setValue( "LDM_USE_BUILDTILE_BY_SLICE", "1" );
